remember when i used to have interesting stuff to write about? or at least, remember when i used to take all that mundane stuff and make them seem interesting? well, at least i thought they were interesting. did i lose the interesting stuff in my life, or did i lose my perspective?

hmm lets see..this is actually what's on my mind right at this very moment..

our neighbors christmas tree is still up. they took off everything but the angel and the strings of gold beads, so maybe it's a mother's day tree? maybe it's a political statement? maybe it blends into the walls so well that no one but me can see it any longer? well, if no one else can see it, i'm not going to mention it.

hmmm..boring..

i need to try a lil harder..

i think i found another mundane stuff that i could make interesting sounding..umm yeah i'm trying to learn how to speak chinese. a friend is helping me. he used to teach me until he got tired and just gave me chinese tutorial tapes and a guidebook, but here is my thought. they tell you how to say all these useful things, like yes, no, how are you?, how much?, where is the bathroom? that's all well and good, and perfectly useful. however, unless the bathroom is 20 feet away in a straight line, the person is probably going to have to explain, in chinese, where it is. the tapes don't teach you how to translate "the bathroom is on the third floor, so you will need to get off the elevator, take a left, and then a right, and then walk exactly 300 feet, and it is hidden behind a row of potted plants."

and what if, for example, they point toward the bathroom and then say "but it is closed today because the toilets are infested with poisonous snakes." try to find that in your guidebook. although...then you may get the chance to use the phrase "where is the nearest hospital, please?"
