THE ALTERNATIVE

uhh..life is good..it has to be..consider the alternative..

death, i feel, is highly overrated. it's reputation is based entirely on its mystery. no one knows exactly what happens after we die, so we believe anything. we're suckers for the afterlife. we assume that there is a post life scenario.

some people claim to have come back from the dead. they report experiences like having gone through a tunnel, seeing a bright light, hearing an angelic chorus. i'm not saying they didn't experience these things, but they were only dead for a few minutes at most. they hadn't gotten used to being dead, hadn't acclimatized (???) to the afterworld.

do you agree that the notion of coming back as a monkey or a platypus lol is more attractive than, umm, nothing. by nothing, i mean complete and utter non existence. you die, you get buried, you decompose, the worms have a smorgasboard, the end. or you die, you get creamted, your family takes you home in a jar, and some absent minded relative mistakes your urn for an ashtray, an over zealous maid flushes you down the toilet, or you get mistaken for some exotic tea and your family drinks you..hahaha!!!!

another reason why death may be desirable to some, particularly the tormented artist types (whether this torment is real, virtual or purely imaginary does not matter), is because life is painful. as my greek literature teacher used to say to cheer us up, "life is a continuum of pain mitigated only by death."

okay, maybe your life sucks eggs, it maybe pure hell, but at least you have an option. you have the option to die... you would be an idiot to take it, but you can take some comfort in knowing that you have a choice. no such choice exists when you're dead. when you're dead you can't un-kill yourself. there is no " ooopsie, i shouldn't have done that."

life is good.. you should get one :)

what the?? what have i been yakking about??

all i wanted to do was wish everyone a good weekend :X:X:X

harhar..
