HERE'S THAT LONG VD POST I PROMISED. IT'S RAMBLING AND LATE BUT BETTER THAN NEVER...

i bet i win the "most unusual valentine's day gift" award for 2005.

aside from the usual vd gifts, a grocery boy gave me 6 bars of ivory soap and a loofah for valentine's day. nothing spells love like good personal hygiene. haha!

all kidding aside, what a great gift! i was just bemoaning the fact that i want something different. not the usual obvious flowers/candy/stuffed animal/jewelry/underwear gifts, and here i get this present that was meant very seriously and made me giggle all day long.

and ohh..i think i've been in a "missing someone badly" fashion rut. no, this does not in any way imply that the soap was a necesary gift. i still shower every day (actually more than once a day),thank you very much. i just mean that i've gotten a bit...well...sloppy. i had plans on monday night, and after i got dressed, i sat down with little 5-year old nephew to do some quality coloring and aunt/nephew bonding. finally i told him i had to get up and finish getting ready to go out. he looked up at me and said, "yeah, 'cuz you're still in your jammies." i looked down at my jeans and sweatshirt and wondered if i had really sunk so low that a 5-year old couldn't tell whether i was ready to go out, or go to bed. apparently so. i changed into a nice shirt and put on makeup (YES MAKE UP!), just to make myself feel a little more human.

the next morning, still thinking about that comment, i put on makeup before leaving for work, which i usually don't do. make up never worked the way they should for me. two of the boys at work actually thought i had pinkeye, although none of the makeup i was wearing was in any shade of pink. what's up with that huh? oh well..end of made up days for me, i guess..

anyways, hope y'all either had all the love and romance your vday could hold, or had the grace to laugh at the lack.

love and warm fuzzies to each and every one of you!

To add a pic to your profile, the picture has to already be online. If you need to upload the picture, I use PhotoBucket.com to upload mine. It's free, and quick to register.

Once the pic you want to use is online, log into Blogger.com. Under your name at the top right of the screen, there should be a link to "Add your photo here by editing your profile". Click that, and look for "Photo URL" on the next page and paste the picture address in there.

If you have any problems, then just let me know.
