PERSONALITIES
i bumped into several interesting/weird persons these past weeks as follows:
1) my literature teacher from high school : she dropped by the store to get something and was so amused to see me. she told me how much i've grown and things. she even tried to hook me up with her son. i didn't let it happen. :
2) my ex's best friend : he spotted me eating alone and invited himself to my table. it was kinda uncomfy talking and eating with him. i got a free meal and a ride home. it was all good. :p
3) a cute anime collector : i see him at the comic alley often that we've become smile aquaintances. (you know..exchanging smiles everytime you meet but not really talking or knowing anything about each other) i saw him again while looking for ranma 1/2 videos. i was about to pay when he butted in and said he's got a huge collection. he offered to make me copies of anything i want if he has it. i said no thanks but he was able to convice me. so, he did. :)
4) my bros new co-worker friend : he is from new zealand and his name is doug. i pity him for having that name and being here. for someone with a hard to pronounce name, he shouldn't come to this part of the world. eveyone calls him dog. :)) it bothers him so he barks at them when people call him that..
me and my cheesiness. someone shoot me!

I hate meeting people I haven't seen for a while. Every time it happens, I engage in a 10 minute conversation of "how are you? what have you been up to? been anywhere nice? etc.". It's almost like you have to reintroduce yourself every few months with some people. Good friends are the exception... you meet up with them after a few months of absence, and what do they do? They punch you in the face and laugh at your lack of hair. Happy days.
I would never have thought of Doug as a hard to pronounce name.
that just reminded me about how everyone at the restaraunt i used to work at called me 'patty mayonaise' and asked me where doug was at. ^_^
Smile acquaintances! I love it. I have a ton of smile acquaintances. Sounds like you do meet interesting people. I see my third grade teacher, when I'm back at home, a lot because she comes into the store I work at all the time. She also happened to be my favorite teacher ever so I love running into her. She had a baby boy the year before I was in her class; now he's in 7th grade and I love getting the updates about him. She's not trying to set me up with him though, so I guess I'm lucky in that area.
I also never thought of Doug as a hard to pronounce name. I hope things progress with your smile acquaintance!
very few people in this side of the world can pronounce that name correctly..
